Journey thus far:
Born and raised in India, I migrated to Canada in 2017. My journey so far has been gratifying, both in terms of geographical transition and my evolution as a photographer. Ever since I moved, I have fallen in love with the natural beauty and diverse landscapes of the Great White North, especially the wide open prairies of Saskatchewan where I currently live.
My interest in photography was sparked by Michael Shainblum's work in early 2010's and further fueled by my personal experiences, including first encounter with milky way photography and a memorable Tiger safari trip to Ranthambore National Park in 2014. I also incorporated my photography skills into my M.Sc. dissertation on Boselaphus tragocamelus (Bluebull/Nilgai). My photographic journey remained dormant after 2015 for a few years.
Fast forward to 2018-2019, I picked up a used mirrorless camera and paired it with a wide angle prime to shoot the milky way and haven't looked back since then. Over time, I have continued to develop my skills by exploring different genres of landscape photography and experimenting with various techniques.
Recently, I've been enjoying capturing smaller, quieter scenes in landscapes and focusing on the details that are usually overlooked. This approach allows me to slow down and tell a more nuanced and personal story about the environment that I'm capturing. This not only adds a unique touch to my work but also enables me to convey a deeper connection to the landscapes I photograph.
